A blister pack of two Excell C size alkaline batteries, IEC type LR14. C cells are 1.5 volt single-use batteries used in larger torches and lanterns, battery-powered radios, toys, door bells, kitchen scales, camping lights and similar devices that need more capacity than an AA cell. Alkaline chemistry gives a longer service life than zinc-carbon cells and a steadier output in medium to high drain devices, and alkaline cells store well, so a spare pair is useful to keep with the camping kit or load-shedding supplies. Fit them with the plus and minus ends the right way round, do not mix them with old or different batteries, and do not attempt to recharge them. Dispose of used batteries at a battery recycling point.
