A large folding pocket knife from Honey Badger Knives, the Johannesburg-based knife brand. The Hook has the same cutting-edge profile as the drop-point Flipper, with a sharpened gut hook added to the spine. The hook opens the skin of game without cutting into what lies beneath, which makes this a practical choice for hunters field dressing an animal, while the main edge still handles everyday cutting. The 3.0mm blade is 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, which takes a keen edge, is easy to resharpen and resists rust. It opens with a flipper tab on a ball-bearing pivot for a smooth, quick action. The tan handle is fibre-reinforced nylon (FRN) with a honeycomb pattern that grips in any direction and resists slipping when wet, and the slim, light build sits comfortably in a pocket. The pocket clip can be swapped for left- or right-hand carry. The large size has a 92mm blade, is 117mm long closed and 208mm open, and weighs 113g.
