A large folding pocket knife from Honey Badger Knives, the Johannesburg-based knife brand. The Rescue is built for emergencies: the fully serrated, flat-ground sheepsfoot blade has a blunt, non-penetrating tip, so it cuts seat belts, clothing and rope quickly without risk of stabbing the person being helped. It suits paramedics, police, emergency services and vehicle kits. The 3.5mm blade is 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, which takes a keen edge, is easy to resharpen and resists rust. It opens with a flipper tab on a ball-bearing pivot for a smooth, quick action. The orange handle is fibre-reinforced nylon (FRN) with a honeycomb pattern that grips in any direction and resists slipping when wet, and the slim, light build sits comfortably in a pocket. The pocket clip can be swapped for left- or right-hand carry. The large size has a 93mm blade, is 117mm long closed and 210mm open, and weighs 122g.
