A medium folding pocket knife from Honey Badger Knives, the Johannesburg-based knife brand. The Tanto blade, inspired by the short blades of feudal Japan, swaps a curved belly for an angular edge transition. That gives a strong, reinforced point that is good for piercing tough materials, while the straight edge still handles day-to-day cutting jobs. The 3.0mm blade is 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, which takes a keen edge, is easy to resharpen and resists rust. It opens with a flipper tab on a ball-bearing pivot for a smooth, quick action. The black handle is fibre-reinforced nylon (FRN) with a honeycomb pattern that grips in any direction and resists slipping when wet, and the slim, light build sits comfortably in a pocket. The pocket clip can be swapped for left- or right-hand carry. The medium size has a 81mm blade, is 104mm long closed and 185mm open, and weighs 85g. Honey Badger gives a 10-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
