The Nextorch N21C Air is a 21-inch expandable duty baton for security and law-enforcement use. The NEX Quicker design uses Nextorch's NEXlock mechanism: the baton locks firmly when extended and does not collapse in use, and is closed again by pressing a release button, so it does not need to be struck on the ground to collapse. The grip is a full-diameter thermoplastic rubber for a secure hold, and it is supplied with a flat end cap; a glass-breaker tip is available separately. The Air version has aerospace aluminium sections with a steel final section, which keeps the weight down to about 315 g for all-day carry on a duty belt. Users must confirm local laws and regulations on owning and carrying an expandable baton.
