The Nite Ize Figure 9 Carabiner combines a carabiner clip with a Figure 9 rope tightener, so you can clip to a fixed point and tension a line without knots. Loop the rope through the prongs, pull it tight and it stays that way; when you release it, the Figure 9 controls the release of tension rather than letting it go suddenly. It can be used as a loop system, fixed-end system or anchor-clip system, and laser-engraved instructions show how to wrap the rope. The small version is made of lightweight, strong aluminium with a stainless steel wire gate. It fits rope from 2 mm to 5 mm, has a maximum gate opening of 9 mm and a load limit of 22.5 kg (50 lb).
