The Nite Ize Figure 9 Small is a compact aluminium rope tightener that lets you tension and secure a line without tying knots. Loop your rope through its specially shaped prongs, pull it tight and it stays put. It is a simpler alternative to cam devices and bungee cords, and it also lets you release a high-tension line in a controlled way instead of having it suddenly let go. The small size handles light tie-down jobs such as bundling firewood for a camping trip, tying down a boot lid, securing a tarp or tensioning a washing line. Numbered positions engraved on the tightener show the order in which to wrap the rope. It fits rope from about 2 mm to 5 mm thick and is supplied without rope, in black.
