RAM Defense Pepper Fog in a 100 ml can, supplied shrink-wrapped. The fog spray pattern spreads over a wide angle, so it is easier to hit a moving target or more than one person under stress than with a narrow stream. It uses OC (oleoresin capsicum), the active ingredient taken from very hot chilli peppers, which causes intense burning, watering eyes and coughing on contact so that you can get away. RAM Defense describes its sprays as non-toxic and non-flammable, with the main effect lasting at least an hour. The 100 ml can gives up to about 30 seconds of continuous spray or up to 25 short bursts. It is a good size for the home, the car or a bag. Check the wind before spraying, aim at the face, then move away. Keep away from children and heat, and test-spray outdoors now and then to make sure it works.
