A pair of 16-gauge snap caps for side-by-side, over-and-under and other shotguns. Snap caps (dummy rounds) are inert training cartridges with no primer, powder or projectile. They are used to practise loading and unloading, to safely release the hammer or striker when dry firing, and to check that a firearm feeds, chambers and extracts properly without live ammunition. A snap cap is designed to take the firing pin's strike, which protects firing pins that can be damaged by repeated dry firing on an empty chamber.
